After jury duty today, as I was walking back to the metro, I passed by the American Art Museum, and decided to stop in since it was still early. It was made in 1987 by Mike Wilkins and they're all real license plates.

Once I read the first 3 plates I realized what it was and was immediately amazed. I spent a couple minutes reading the whole thing, good stuff. Then I counted the plates and realized that there were only 49 plates there! So I spent the next 5 minutes or so trying to figure out which state was missing. I came to two realizations:

1. DC's plate is there, so there's 2 plates missing!
2. I'm an idiot and can't count, there's 51 plates.

All the extra time I stared at it for trying to find the 'missing plate' made me like it even more. Bravo Mike Wilkins, bravo.
