Can you believe in Santa Claus? Jolly Old St. Nicholas is an integral part of western society and most of us grew up using this magical icon. Recently I came upon the concept that Santa represents a unique archetype. In Jungian psychology, archetype is described as an inherited memory represented from the mind from a universal symbol and observed in dreams and myths.
While seeking for such symbolic images of the dear old man I saw that which Santa Claus is short for could also be used to motivate us in creating for that new year. I see him like a fun-loving guy that literally brings us joy, love, excitement and happiness. It’s said he makes all of our dreams and wishes be realized. During this season we are filled with expectations, the brilliance of light-filled homes, the fun being with friends and neighbors to celebrate life, along with the joy and gratitude of giving and receiving.
I learn that proof of santa reflects several archetypes. He is visible in the Innocent archetype, helping us to trust, to hope as well as assume that a much better day lies ahead. He is clearly driven by faith and trust, bring that hope and giving us that faith and the trust that every will likely be well.
The Caregiver archetype, however, is not in the exercise of power which is the motive, but the drive to bestow care on those who want it: the care, concern and nurturing they lack but deserve. He is about giving to others fulfilling the requirements. And that he does not request anything in exchange except a cookie, glass of milk or some eggnog. He appear to be a powerful guy, settling on who receives a new Nintendo and who gets t-shirts or shoes. If we are great of course, if we believe, Santa will ensure we receive everything we want.
A tremendous facet of Santa’s story may be the magical transformation from his rising up a chimney with the touch of his nose along with his yearly trek world wide. And in addition, his flying reindeer without GPS onboard is literally miraculous, indeed. He magically brings gratitude, compassion and like to all, one child’s heart at a time. Santa is the quintessential Magician archetype helping us transform and transcend current reality to get new ways of dealing, being and succeeding.
While we are coming up with our dreams, our visions, and our selections for 2010, let’s all remember to use our Santa Claus model in conjunction with the Law of Attraction, Creation and Allowing. When you have selected then more clearly defined your alternatives in creating your 2010 Journey, take advantage of this technique to shift your beliefs and allowing of this which you desire.
Sometimes simply the subtle shift from viewing our images from a mature part of seeking to force, worrying over and wondering how things will change, towards the wide-eyed expectations and faith of kids. A vital aspect of the skill of Allowing is always to let go and let God. Releasing our attachment to old beliefs, ideas and teachings permits us to available to the Infinite Probabilities of the Universe.
Then too, we can liken Santa’s management techniques into a universal manager. Can you envision him bringing toys to everyone, world-wide, within just one night? And all by the due date and within budget? That’s what we’re taught the Universe can perform for all of us, whenever we turn it onto God/Source. In the book “Ask & It Is Actually Given” one of many Proven Processes is catchusanta it over to the manager. While we set our goals, it’s like delegating into a Universal Manager. And as we step back, and allow the Universe set things set up, we CREATE! Remember, we’re not stopping choices, we’re merely turning over all the information and creating our choices.
I urge you to focus on giving over to your Universal Manager all the things you sense you want to do in this holiday week. You’ll think it is amazing that as we shift our focus of reality, our reality changes. I’ve done this personally when I’ve felt overwhelmed by all the chores I feel I must do. Amazingly, some get done, some don’t, although some just don’t seem essential. I’ve had times when my daughters and daughters-in-law would offer to accomplish a number of the baking. I’ve learned to simply accept help and reply having a grateful “Yes!” This method is priceless in every areas of life, not only the holidays. What The Law States of Attraction is unfolding and orchestrating all that must happen to bring me my desires, Now.
